The collection consists of 25 volumes of account books kept by Gerard Beekman and his brother James William Beekman, Jr. (1847-1908), in New York City. They contain few entries and they deal with real estate transactions including leases, sales, repairs, etc. It also includes a volume of business letters of E.D. Howland, Beekmans' agent, for the years 1887-1888. They are indexed in the back of the book.
